Wrocław, Poland, 21-23 September 2016 – Wrocław University of Science and Technology
The conferences on electrostatic precipitation have been organized since 1981 and were held in different places the world over: Monterey, California, USA (1981), Kyoto, Japan (1984), Abano Terme, Italy (1987), Beijing, China (1990), Washington, USA (1993), Budapest, Hungary (1996), Kyongju, Korea (1998), Birmingham, Alabama, USA (2001), Mpumalanga, South Africa (2004), Cairns, Australia (2006), Hangzhou, China (2008), Nuremberg, Germany (2011), and Bangalore, India (2013).
At ICESP 2016 we will therefore celebrate 35 years of the conferences which significantly contributed to the development of electrostatic precipitation in itself as well as of different technologies, techniques and devices that were necessary to improve performance of electrostatic precipitators and their efficiency. It has been evidenced by the numbers of conference participants, presented papers, to say nothing of the broad interest of scientists and engineers working in this field of human activity. The objective of the conference is to encourage interaction between industrial and academic researchers by providing opportunities and a forum for discussions of various topics at many levels of interest. The presentations will provide summaries of the latest achievements, knowledge and new ideas in the field of electrostatic precipitation, that is within the period after the last ICESP 2013 that was held in Bangalore, India, and will also point out exciting challenges, new trends and directions for the future of protecting our environment against harmful gas and dust pollutants emitted to the atmosphere by industry every day. The vitality of this field of our activity is often attributed to its interdisciplinary character. It is hoped that the meeting will be of interest to research and industrial workers, safety managers, and product, marketing and distribution management, and many others.
This XIV conference ICESP 2016 is organized by the Faculty of Mechanical and Power Engineering of Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Wrocław, Poland and the International Society for Electrostatic Precipitation (ISESP) and will be held in Wrocław, Poland. In 2016 Wrocław will be the European Capital of Culture throughout the year, and there will therefore be a lot of different cultural events and attractions — the city will also be the World Book Capital and will host the Theatre Olympics and the European Film Awards in 2016, and some of them will also accompany us during the conference.
It is hoped that both the meeting of experts in the field of electrostatic precipitation from different parts of the world and their visit to Wrocław in September 2016 will be friendly, fruitful, and memorable. Have a pleasant and enjoyable stay in Wrocław!
